XXV Võru Folklore Festival is now a history! Memories and pictures can be find in the gallery.
The XXVI Võru Folklore Festival is postponed and will take place 08.-11. july 2021.
The festival serves as an event where people from various cultural backgrounds get together and learn from one another. We have decided that the event will be moved to the next summer.. This decision was a hard one to take but it seamed to be the right one, considering the current situation.
Võru folklore festival is the oldest and biggest annual folkfestival in Estonia. This international event is looking to promote and share the folklore and traditions of different nations to strengthen the friendship and the identity of each country.
Since 1995, hundreds of dancers, musicians and singers from Estonia and all over the world are gathering to Võru to offer unique opportunity to grasp the folk tradition of different countries. The festival has about 10, 000 visitors every year, which is almost equal to the population of Võru city´s population of 12, 000.
Võru Folklore Festival belongs to CIOFF ® (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts) calendar.
The festival is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture through the Cultural Endowment of Estonia and also by the City of Võru and various other sponsors.
